Design for art and culture.Untitled Office is a design practice focused on art and cultural spaces.
Founded on extensive international experience across exhibition architecture, art fairs, cultural institutions, and environments where art and life intersect, we approach architecture as an active participant in shaping how art is encountered, understood, and situated within cultural contexts.
Who we work with
Untitled Office collaborates with individuals and organisations engaged in the production and presentation of art and culture.
The practice builds on prior collaborations with leading institutions, art fairs, and galleries internationally, including Art Basel, TEFAF, the Mauritshuis, the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, and Fondazione Prada.
We work with:
-
For commercial galleries, we design art fair booths, gallery architecture and interiors, and exhibitions that create the spatial and experiential conditions for meaningful engagement with the work.
This means understanding the specific requirements of your inventory — the historical context, market positioning, and collector behaviour — and translating that into architecture that elevates your program and reinforces your gallery's identity. Whether presenting at international fairs or designing permanent gallery spaces, we create environments that provide distinction while maintaining the consistency and cultural credibility that builds long-term reputation.
-
For public galleries and museums, we design exhibitions, permanent collection displays, and gallery architecture that translate curatorial vision into spatial experience.
We bring fluency in both cultural storytelling and institutional requirements — balancing creative ambition with conservation standards, accessibility, budgets, and operational realities. Each project is approached as an opportunity to shape how audiences encounter and understand art, creating environments that deepen audience understanding while upholding institutional and artwork integrity.
-
For private collectors, we design residential environments, private museums and foundations, exhibitions, and bespoke display elements that reflect the effort and sensibility invested in building a collection.
We approach each project — whether a collector's home, a private gallery space, or a loan exhibition — with deep attention to how the collection should be encountered. This means designing spaces where art and life strengthen rather than compromise each other, creating environments that honour the works while elevating the experience of living with or presenting them. Our work supports collections across contexts, ensuring they are presented at their best whether in domestic settings, dedicated viewing spaces, or public institutions.
-
For corporate collections, we design dedicated gallery spaces, exhibitions, and display environments within corporate settings — ensuring collections are presented with institutional-level curatorial rigour while aligning spatial design with the cultural ambitions and values underpinning the collection.
-
We understand the high-stakes nature of fair environments and design for distinction, clarity, and sustained collector engagement that supports both sales and reputation. For art fairs, we work at two levels:
Art Fair Organisations: For art fairs organisations we provide overall fair design, spatial planning, VIP and hospitality areas, and special exhibition design services. Our approach ensures the overall plan works for visitor experience across the entire event — designing flow and pacing that eliminates dead zones, creates natural rhythm and rest points for visitors, and ensures strong visibility and commercial viability across all booth locations. This strengthens the fair's ability to attract exhibitors and deliver meaningful engagement throughout. We offer full design services, advisory support, consultancy on existing designs, and are open to partnership arrangements.
Individual Galleries/Exhibitors: We design art fair booths that create distinction and sustained collector engagement — see Commercial Galleries above for more.
-
For biennales and cultural events, we design pavilions, installations, and temporary architectures that respond to curatorial themes and site-specific contexts. We work collaboratively with curators, organizers and artists to create spaces that support ambitious programming while managing the logistical and temporal constraints of large-scale cultural events. We offer full design services, advisory support, consultancy on existing designs, and are open to partnership arrangements.
-
For artists, we design studios, homes, and exhibition environments that support artistic practice and presentation. We approach these projects as creative partnerships, working closely with artists to realise their vision while bringing technical expertise and a deep understanding of how work is produced, lived with, and encountered.
-
For curators, we offer exhibition design services and spatial consultation for independent projects and institutional commissions. We work as collaborators in translating curatorial concepts into built form, bringing rigorous understanding of how architecture shapes interpretation and visitor experience.
-
For architects, we provide specialist consultation on art-related aspects of larger projects — including gallery and museum spaces, collection display, lighting design, and art integration. We work as collaborators or advisors, bringing art-world expertise to projects where spatial design plays a critical role in how art is encountered. We welcome expressions of interest and conversations about current or future projects and partnerships.
We work best with clients who are ambitious, collaborative, and who embrace a design process built on clarity and trust. Our approach and impactful outcomes have resulted in many ongoing creative relationships, built through repeat collaboration over time.
About
Untitled Office is a design practice founded on extensive experience working across architecture, interiors, and exhibition design within international art and cultural contexts.
The practice was established to pursue a focused approach to the design of art and cultural spaces — one that understands architecture as an active mediator in how art is encountered, understood, and situated.
Each project is approached as both a spatial and cultural act, developed through close collaboration and careful attention to context, meaning, and experience. This approach is grounded in dual training across fine art and architecture, which enables fluency in both curatorial thinking and construction reality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why work with Untitled Office?
Untitled Office is founded on dual training across fine art and architecture, and extensive experience working with leading institutions, galleries, and collectors internationally. This background enables us to work fluidly between curatorial vision and spatial execution — understanding architecture as something that actively mediates the encounter with art, rather than simply framing it. We approach each project as both a design challenge and a cultural proposition, attentive to how spatial decisions shape meaning and experience.
How do projects typically begin?
Most projects begin with an introductory conversation to discuss context, scope, and intent. From there, we outline an approach tailored to the specific requirements of the project and the people involved.
How long does a typical project take?
Timelines vary significantly depending on project type and complexity. Art fair booths typically run 8-12 weeks from brief to install; exhibition design 3-6 months; larger architectural projects 6-12+ months.
We're experienced in working within the realities of art-world timelines, including compressed schedules when circumstances require it, while maintaining rigorous attention to design quality.
If you have a specific deadline or aren't sure whether your timeline is feasible, we recommend booking a conversation below to explore what's possible.
What types of work does Untitled Office take on?
Untitled Office designs art and cultural spaces across commercial, institutional, private, and corporate contexts.
Our work includes galleries and museums; permanent and temporary exhibitions; art fairs, from overall fair design and spatial planning to individual booths; large-scale cultural events; collection spaces within private and corporate settings; artist studios and residences; and specialist art environments integrated within broader architectural projects.
We additionally design bespoke display elements, including plinths, vitrines, framing systems, and architectural interventions, where precision of presentation is critical to how work is perceived.
Do you work internationally?
Yes. Untitled Office works internationally, drawing on extensive experience across different cultural, institutional, and regulatory contexts. We are experienced in remote collaboration, and structure our practice to work seamlessly across borders and time zones.
What is your approach to collaboration?
Each project is developed through close collaboration with clients and project partners. We bring deep understanding of both art-world and construction contexts, which means we can translate between curatorial intent, technical requirements, and spatial reality without friction. We place strong emphasis on dialogue, shared understanding, and careful attention to artistic, spatial, and practical requirements throughout the process.
Can you visit our project site or attend our fair build?
Yes. We work both remotely and on-site depending on project needs and client preference.
For art fair and exhibition builds, we like to be on site to oversee installation, direct lighting, and coordinate with art handlers on artwork placement. All projects include detailed documentation to ensure accurate execution whether we're present or working remotely.
For larger architectural and interior projects, we arrange site visits during key phases of the design and construction process, maintaining close collaboration with project teams through regular reviews to ensure design integrity.
How are fees structured?
Fees are structured according to the scope, scale, and complexity of each project. This is discussed transparently at the outset, once project requirements are clearly defined.
